About Ken Berry, MSOM, LAc

Ken Berry founded Asian Therapeutics in 2007 with the goal of helping his patients achieve optimal health through natural medicine.

Ken received his Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (summa cum laude) from the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College, Berkeley, where he is now an Assistant Professor with an extensive curriculum vitae.

His professional interests include women’s health, fertility, facial paralysis and pain management within the broader scope of family practice.

He has worked with patients ages 11-102 on a wide variety of health issues.

Ken also holds the rank of Shodan (black belt) in Aikido, a martial art based on peaceful conflict resolution. Ken’s professional memberships include the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and the American Pregnancy Association.

Ken is a contracted provider for Sutter Physicians Alliance and is licensed to practice acupuncture by the California Acupuncture Board. (Lic #11845)


About Carissa Simper, MSOM, LAc

Carissa studied at Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College, Berkeley. Her specialty includes menstrual issues, menopausal syndrome, and pregnancy support. She studied Dr. Hua Ling Xu, a specialist in TCM obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Xu taught Carissa the importance of working as a team with patients and their doctors and to be very thorough and precise in her diagnosis to ensure the best treatment outcome. She utilizes questioning, physical exam, western medical diagnosis and lab work to form a diagnosis and optimal treatment.

She got into this field because she appreciates medicine and the sacred space that particularly Acupuncture has to offer. As she went through school she witnessed first hand the amazing results of Acupuncture and enjoyed the bonds she formed with her patients along the way.

Carissa is licensed to practice acupuncture by the California Acupuncture Board. (Lic #16675)
