Quality of Life Medicine

At Asian Therapeutics, our goal is quite simply to improve your quality of life. Through the use of acupuncture and bodywork therapies, we can help you achieve and maintain a sense of balance and well-being -- first by alleviating symptoms of illness and then by providing preventative and health maintenance care.

Acupuncture is one of the longest living forms of medicine in the world. Used for thousands of years in China and the rest of East Asia, acupuncture has become available to most Americans in just the last four decades.

Ken Berry, LAc and Scott Rowe, LAc use acupuncture and herbal medicine to treat many common ailments and to promote health and wellness. The foundation of treatment is traditional Chinese medicine, which views health as a harmonious balance of an individual's body, mind, and spirit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does acupuncture hurt? What does it feel like?

Acupuncture treatments are usually very relaxing, even blissful. Acupuncture needles feel nothing at all like getting a shot. They are hair-thin, and you may not even notice the insertion. Once a needle has been inserted, people often feel some sensation: warmth, tingling, or a light buzzing.

How quickly does it work? How many treatments do I need?

The answer to these questions varies greatly from person to person. Many patients do experience a noticeable improvement around 4 - 24 hours after treatment.

Generally speaking, we ask patients to commit to three weekly treatments to see how well they respond to acupuncture care. If we see that we're making good progress, we'll continue with treatment either weekly or biweekly until the condition is resolved (often 6-10 treatments total).
