Due to extremely low reimbursement rates, we are not “in-network” providers for HMO-style health insurance plans.
If you have a PPO-style health insurance policy, please let us know and we will verify your acupuncture benefit prior to your first appointment. Do keep in mind that our pricing on the website includes a discount for payment at the time of service, i.e. we will bill your insurance at a higher rate. Coverage is restricted to medically necessary treatment, and herbal medicine is generally not covered. Speak with your benefits coordinator for the details of your policy’s coverage.
HSA & FSA Plans
If you are enrolled in a high-deductible health plan, you may use your health savings account to pay for treatment, even if your insurance policy does not cover acupuncture. By using your HSA checks or debit card, you may pay for acupuncture treatment with pre-tax dollars while working toward your deductible.
Our services are also considered qualified medical care for Flexible Spending Accounts. You are welcome to use FSA checks or credit cards for acupuncture and prescribed herbs.
The IRS recognizes acupuncture as a qualified medical expense, which you may find beneficial when preparing your income tax return. Speak with your tax advisor for more information.
