To support you, I offer an affordable cessation assistance program. The Smoking CAP is an eight-week program designed to help you quit smoking for life.

How It Works

Acupuncture for Cravings
Auricular (Ear) acupuncture is a fast and effective way to dramatically decrease nicotine withdrawl symptoms. Using a variation of the NADA (North American Detox Acupuncture) protocol, five needles are inserted into each ear and retained for approximately 25 minutes at each visit.

Herbal Supplements for Emotional Well-being
Nicotine withdrawl is usually accompanied by rapid emotional changes and mood swings. Irritability, restlessness, and an undefinable feeling of unease are very common. Included in the program are individually prescribed herbal supplements (in capsule or tablet form) that will help keep emotions in check through the transition.

Antioxidants for Health
Smoking causes free radicals to be released in the body. Excessive free radicals can cause many health problems. In smokers, they have been associated with the development of emphysema. By supplementing with pharmaceutical-grade antioxidants, you can begin to reverse some of the negative effects of long-term smoking.

Program Outline

The Smoking CAP is an eight-week program including a total of 16 office visits. The first visit will take about an hour, as we will do a thorough intake and review of your health and your motivation for quitting. Follow-up visits usually take 30 minutes each.

Generally, each treatment will curb cravings for about 2-3 days at the beginning of the program. As you progress, your withdrawl symptoms will decrease, and you will need less frequent treatment.

To qualify to participate in the Smoking CAP, you must:

  • have a strong desire to quit for good.

The Smoking CAP is designed to support you, but nothing make you quit if you aren’t ready.

  • commit to the full program.

    It is my sincerest desire to see my patients quit long-term. You may feel empowered and satisfied with your quit after the first couple of weeks. However, back-sliding is very common within the first two months, so even if you’re doing well, completing the program will increase your chances of quitting for good.

  • be willing to continue the program despite the occasional slip.


Especially in the first weeks, you may slip and choose to smoke. If this happens, it is vital to identify what triggered you to smoke, revisit your reasons for quitting, and recommit to your decision to stop smoking.

  • be willing to avoid all alcohol for at least the first two weeks of the program.

    As you probably already know, alcohol can be a strong trigger to smoke. Coupled with its tendency to reduce inhibition, it is important to avoid the temptation to smoke that comes with drinking.


The cost of the full Smoking CAP, including all treatments and supplements is $480. Because the Smoking CAP price reflects a dramatic discount from standard office visits, no further discounts may be applied. Payment is non-refundable and is due at the time of the first visit.
